De-Watering
De-Watering does not block the path of water as with waterproofing. It instead, contains and then gets rid of water.
You rarely need to have both interior de-watering and exterior waterproofing done for the same walls. Sometimes, however, a combination of both techniques is best—waterproofing on some wall sections and de-watering on others.
When the original foundation protection against water intrusion has failed, Interior De-Watering is often the method of choice as it is usually a more cost effective and less disruptive process. We refer to these as ‘retrofit’ installations.
